Where is Akasha charted?
AUM is a Florida non-profit corporation and is the educational branch of the Key West Church of Wisdom.

What programs do we offer?

What degrees are offered?
AUM offers degrees at the Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctoral levels.

Do we offer Ph.D. programs?
Yes, in Metaphysics and Spiritual Counseling.

How long does it take to complete the programs?
Our programs are completely self-paced and there are no formal completion time requirements for our programs.
The average time of completion for a single degree program is approximately two years.

How many credit hours are there in each program?
Bachelor degrees are 120 credit hours, Masters degrees are 30 hours and Doctoral degrees are 60 credit hours.

Do you have academic credit for life and work experience?
Since our curriculum is highly specialized, all classes must be taken at AUM.

How much will my tuition be?
You can find tuition prices in a current catalog or you may call or email an admissions advisor.

Do we have financial aid?
AUM is not state or federally funded, therefore, no federal grants or loans are applicable (includes Stafford and Pell).
However, payment plans are available to help students with their tuition. AUM does offer tuition discounts for degrees held, and work experience..

Where are you located?
Key West, Florida.

Do you have a campus?
AUM has both a distance learning and residential component to our program. Our campus and administrative headquarters are in Key West and includes space for our faculty, academic support personnel, student services, on-line services, accounting dept., etc. Students are required to attend some classes on site in the beautiful tropical setting of Key West, Florida.

Is Akasha University of Metaphysics affiliated with the University of Metaphysics?
AUM is no way affiliated with the University of Metaphysics nor with Dr. Paul Leon Masters. AUM is fully incorporated in the State of Florida as a non-profit educational organization and is the educational branch of the Key West Church of Wisdom.

How does distance education work?
Upon enrollment you will be sent a list of all materials necessary to complete your program. You will read and study the texts (and supplementary material, if applicable) and then complete course assignments, which are questions designed to carry you through the text: either chapter by chapter or section by section. These questions vary in format. Questions may be multiple choice, fill in the blank, true/false, or short essay questions.

Textbooks may be purchased through our online bookstore or on your own. Please make sure that you get the correct ISBN for the books you order from any outside source.

All programs require some attendance at the Key West Campus.

Most courses have progress tests and a final exam. The exams vary in format also. You must complete each test/exam with a minimum grade of 80. If you do not make a passing grade, you will have to retake the exam.

There is an academic “Help Line” available Mon - Fri from 8:00 to 4:00 (EST) to help you with any questions or problems that you might be having. That number is 305-294-7991. We also have an e-mail address you may contact for assistance at info@akashauniversity.org. Once you have completed your course requirements you send the requirements for the complete courses in for grading. Our academic staff will grade it and return the results to you within four to six weeks.

Are the exams proctored?
Proctoring is not required by the school.

Are there any residency requirements?
Yes. Depending upon the level of your program, there are some components that must be taken live in Key West or assigned off-campus locations

What are the credentials of your staff?
AUM's staff consists of both on-site and adjunct professors. Their vast range of experience includes completion of graduate, post-graduate and ministerial studies, plus demonstrated professional mastery as educators, authors and counselors/practitioners.

Will my employer reimburse me for my tuition?
There are several employers that have reimbursed their employees for course work taken at AUM. Check with your employer to see if they offer tuition reimbursement.

Can I enter at an advanced level if I already have a degree?
No, since our curriculum is highly specialized, all classes must be taken at AUM.
